About

A dyed campfire is a variant of the campfire that comes in all 16 dye colors.

Placing

Dyed campfires are lit by default when placed.

Breaking

When broken, a dyed campfire drops

  • Nothing if mined by hand.
  • 2 Charcoal if mined with any tool.
  • Itself if mined with a tool enchanted with Silk Touch.

Waterlogged

Like normal campfires, a dyed campfire becomes extinguished when waterlogged, preventing food from being cooked on it. If re-lit using flint and steel or a fire charge, the campfire retains its initial dyed color.

Hoppers

Like a normal campfire, a hopper placed directly underneath a dyed campfire pulls through any items dropped into it.

Damage

Dyed campfires will damage players and other mobs, similar to normal campfires. They do not destroy items.

Cooking

Cooking food on a dyed campfire works exactly like cooking on a normal campfire.

Particles

Like normal campfires, a lit dyed campfire produces smoke particles that float upward approximately 10 blocks before disappearing. Placing a hay bale underneath increases the smoke height to 24 blocks, transforming it into a signal fire.

Dyed Campfires also occasionally emit ember particles, similar to lava. The particle's color matches the dyed campfire's color.

Bees

Like a normal campfire, a dyed campfire prevents bees from becoming aggravated when harvesting beehives or bee nests.

Crafting Recipe

Craft a dyed campfire in a crafting table by placing a campfire and any color of dye in any arrangement.
