About
Spruce cones are an early game food item that can be used to craft Forest's Bounty.
Obtaining
Spruce cones can be obtained by breaking spruce leaves. The leaves will drop 1–2 spruce cones; the amount is not increased by Fortune. However, the drop chance is affected. If the leaves are exploded by a creeper, the chances dwindle greatly. This is summarized in the following table:

Usage
Food
To eat spruce cones, press and hold use while it is selected in the hotbar. Eating one restores 2 hunger (1 drumstick) and 1.2 saturation.
Crafting Recipes
Craft forest's bounty in a crafting table by placing a bowl, sweet berries, and a spruce cone in any arrangement.

Configuration
Spruce cones are enabled/disabled indirectly with the forest's bounty config setting.
